I first met Chris in 2016 we’re after a chance conversation at work with my son he came to Rutherglen Glencairn 21s to take 2 training sessions after he returned from the far East,
Chris ended up taking every training session between then and Sunday 7th May 2017 when he was part of the coaching staff lifting the Scottish Cup at Airdrie FC excelsior Stadium.
Chris was a first class coach respected by the players who listened intensely to his instructions they loved his sessions and respect the man very much.
My abiding memory will always be the after party in Millsy’s pub in Hamilton when Chris kept hold of the trophy( photo) he was proud of his achievement and we were proud of him.
He was not only a top coach but a top man as well he shared many a dinner in my house after his work and before training and made a lasting impression on my family and his players.
We kept in touch and actually spoke last week about arranging a game.
To Chris’s mum, brother niece and all other family please except our love at this terrible time for you. We loved him not as much as you but I’m sure you treasure the memories.
good night our friend
