Mark Dunne

I am really so so shocked and sorry to hear this news, for the University of Manchester, colleagues across the world, the students and most importantly his family. Mark was very highly regarded both by myself and other colleagues at Heptares who worked with Mark. Our paths crossed many years ago whilst I was at AstraZenca where it became apparent immediately that Mark was an expert not only in all things b-cell but also an intense drive to understand how to bring his knowledge to benefit patients. Mark rapidly became my ‘go-to’ person for any pancreatic b-cell related matter (although I appreciate he was much more than just a b-cell expert). At Heptares we are trying to pull together the final aspects of our SSTR5 publication on which Mark is an author and we will ensure a deidication is included in this manuscript on submission which would be the least we could do.

I’m honestly absolutely devastated and not really sure what else to say……please do include me in any broader remembrance occasions as I would like to pay my respect to Mark for everything he has done to help me and Heptares,

Alastair Brown
