Book of Remembrance of

Simon Trollope
IGEM wishes to extend its heartfelt and deepest condolences to the family and friends of our much loved and admired colleague, Simon Trollope.
Simon passed away peacefully on Monday 18 October following a battle with cancer. We know Simon had many friends within the IGEM family and the wider industry and that we will all mourn his loss.
Simon joined IGEM in 2013 and quickly become known for his sharp intellect, warm presence and supportive ear amongst his colleagues. He worked diligently to help grow the institution into the organisation it is today, developing its strategy, delivering knowledge to its members and creating a programme of events to be proud of.
“Simon was a much loved and respected figure in the energy sector, having forged strong relationships with so many stakeholders across the gas industry, consultants, supply chains, government, advisors and regulators to name a few.“ Oliver Lancaster, IGEM CEO
Simon was always on hand to help his colleagues and share his years of experience in the industry and his contributions will not be forgotten. The IGEM family and his colleagues from across the wider energy system will all miss him dearly.
Following the news of his passing, IGEM’s social media accounts were flooded with heartfelt tributes to Simon, who many described as “a true gentleman”.
