In Loving Memory of

Roger Kennedy

We would love you to share your memories of Roger.
He was a much loved Son of Margaret and Norman; adored Husband of June; precious Father to Rosie, Andrew, David, Sally and Jenny, and Grandpa and Great Grandpa.

He had many friends across the world, having spent 17 years as a missionary in India then working for Scripture Gift Mission (Lifewords) until his retirement.

In their retirement, Roger and June loved spending time with family and friends. They were very involved in Hebron Evangelical Church. They met many people while hosting Master Sun holidays, and loved caravan holidays.

Roger was a true Gentleman, who loved His Saviour who he served all his life.

Roger will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but it is so lovely to know he is no longer suffering.

I first met Roger in 1960 when I was a student at Moorlands College and he came to speak about the MSS literature ministry in New Delhi.  It was at that time the Lord called me to India where I was not only a colleague but very much part of Roger and June’s family …

A wonderful, lovely, wise father in law to me was Roger. He always thought of others, and valued their opinions. In all the years I have known him the one thing that marked him out was a life of grace. Yes, he could fall asleep anywhere, but he was always up for a bit …

What an amazing Grandpa/ great Grandpa we had! We are so thankful to God for grandpa’s love, support, prayers, wisdom, time, patience, kindness, generosity… (Don’t forget the marmalade).   He was a great Godly leader of his family. I loved how on family holidays he would lead us all in a Sunday service. He …

I  have a number of memories of Roger – a very special person. The one that stands out most is when he was staying at our family home in Liverpool. My brothers and I were quite young at the time and very impressed by him. One day he sat cross legged on the floor, …

‘A man without an enemy in the world,’ was how someone once described Roger. So true. He was a man with a twinkle in his eye, ready to diffuse a difficult situation with a quip or that lovely smile of his. I thought I had said a final earthly goodbye to Roger at his …

I remember Roger with affection and huge respect from his time as an Elder at Woodcroft Evangelical Church when I was on the staff team. His wisdom and grace were a privilege to experience first hand, and I valued greatly his thoughtful support to me as an individual. A very special man! With love …

Knowing Roger has always been a blessing from the Lord since our days together at Woodcroft. His faithful walk with the Lord, humble readiness to serve, unpretentious words of wisdom in the ministry of God’s Word and in private counsel made our fellowship a joyful experience for me. He and June were a splendid …
