To Queen Elizabeth II:   I hail from a British Overseas Territory. I’ve also managed to find a home in the UK. I’ve gone so further as to serve quite briefly in the armed forces. What I can say is that I’m happy- and more than impressed- to find you’ve managed to see this country survive through its hardships, and capitalise on its advancements, through all these years. I pray wherever it is you find yourself, you find with it sound rest. Love,   Franklyn Been …

Queen Elizabeth II, you gave your life to be our Queen and have served the country for 70+ years. 23years of this I served in the forces and proud to have taken my ‘Oath of Allegiance’ to you as our Head of State and Head of the Armed Forces, our ‘Colonel-in-Chief’ of our Regiment The Royal Welch Fusiliers (later Royal Welsh). The impact you made wherever you went was incredible. Deepest sympathy to your family at their loss as the nation gives you the state funeral to show the world of the commitment to your country that was impeccable. “Thank you for your service, duty done rest in peace” “Long live the King”. …

Your Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11  now  is the time to Rest in peace you have  served us all for many decades right up to your passing and it will never be the same to not “God save the Queen”  but ” God save the King”  That smile and humour will never be replaced.  I have two daughters very heavily linked and involved with the Sea Cadets and had the pleasure of meeting our new king and Queen consort on many occasions, taking part in Trafalgar, Lord Mayor’s parade, and other large mass band cadet occasions with very proud mum and dad following them right across the country to be a part of many events that you would have to be there or participating in to understand the atmosphere.  Gone but never forgotten always in our hearts and memories    …
