Book of Remembrance of

Paula Milton

Paula Milton

Paula was a much respected and loved colleague who joined LGC in 1994 as a Scientific Officer in Teddington, transferring from the DTI Armed Food Services Lab, which she joined in April 1990.  Paula led the LGC External Programme Management Group for many years before joining GMG.  Paula, who celebrated her 60th birthday in January this year, was tireless in her efforts to build links between GMG and the rest of LGC, organising a number of scientific seminars at Grange House.  She was also a committed member of the Staff Forum and the EDI Working Group and many you will have attended her excellent presentations on Chinese New Year.

We have created this online book for you to express your sympathy and honour our friend and colleague.  We would love you to write your favourite memories and messages in this online book of rememberence which will be printed and passed onto Terry (Paulas husband) and Paulas family.  Please ensure you add your name to the end of the message/memory.

I was very shocked and saddened to hear the news of Paula’s passing. I have known Paula for over 25 years, and remember when she and colleagues came to Teddington from the Gosport laboratory. Many of us from the ‘Foods’ team attended Paula and Terry’s wedding, and enjoyed a chuckle with Terry at how lucky he was to ‘bag’ such a fine lady! I was very fond of Paula; she was one of the kindest and gentlest people I had the privilege of knowing. She was positive and always saw the good in people and situations. My deepest condolences to Terry and all the family. Rest in peace dearest Paula. Love Selvarani xx …

My thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to Paula’s family and friends during this difficult time. Paula was one of the first people I worked closely with during my first few months in the Innovations team and she remained my go-to person for any questions throughout the year. I didn’t share with her enough how much I appreciated her immense knowledge, patience, and generosity with her time. I could always count on her to greet me with a smile and a caring conversation about family, LGC history or tennis. I found it so touching that Paula would always find the time to stop by and ask how I was whenever we were in the office together, no matter how busy she was. Paula, thank you for your kindness, openness and making me feel so welcomed when I first joined the team – I miss you greatly- you left a gap which won’t be filled. …

Sending my condolences to Paula’s family and friends. I did not work with Paula directly much but we always passed a smile and a hello to each other in the office, proving she was a genuine lovely and people person. I also really enjoyed her talks on the Chinese Lunar New Year and loved hearing about all the different facts and beauitful presentation she created. She will be very much missed but remembered forever with wonderful memories. …
