The world is a sadder place without this special person in it. I have had the pleasure of working with Malcolm for over 18 years. He was the first person I spoke to in the Duty Office on my first on call shift in the midnight hours and he was nothing but so very kind. He ‘held my hand’ through that night and I was so very grateful for his patience, reassurance and guidance. He really was one of life’s good guys. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered in equal measure. Sending my deepest condolences to family and friends. Sheryl Parsons (Birmingham Renal Transplant Coordinator) …

Dear Donna and Family,  Sending you my sincere condolences and thoughts. Malcom was such a character, he was always a supportive and knowledgeable voice at the end of the phone day or night. I only met him in person just a handful of times but I remember on so many occasions our conversations and his distinctive voice on the end of the phone. As colleagues in hub I don’t think you’ll ever realise the true support and appreciation we take as nurses and healthcare professionals with your guiding and reassuring voices at the end of the phone coordinating the incredible process of donation and transplantation from your office. You should be so proud of Malcom, he will have influenced and supported so many of these colleagues over the years, offered reassurance and care on some of the darkest days of our nurses careers, and played a  huge part in saving countless numbers of lives through transplantation… what an absolute legacy to have left.  My very best wishes   Jo  …
