Moni

Hi Di, I am so sorry! I met Kev in January 2004 in Australia, we both started kitesurfing. Then we saw each other again in Cabarete, Kev took this picutre of me. I still have his email from 20th April 2005: Hi Monica the demander, here are your photos of the extreme kiteboarding session. Kev I remember the day that you left Tarifa, we slept the last night in the hostel. You both were really nice to me. Do you remember the night that I wanted to sleep in your Apartment in Tarifa, but you both just disappered and I had to stay in the night club until the end.  I really enjoyed the time with you both! Lots of love  …

Maz & Rob

People pass through our lives. They come and they go. But few leave a mark on your soul and your memory banks… Kev was one of those rare few. It does not seem possible to take away one of those special people.  But we are honored to have known him. Honored to have passed through his life – even if only briefly.  With huge love from Marianne, Rob, Luke, Maddy and Bea x …

I met Kevin in 2005 in Malaysia. I was travelling with someone I was very bored with. Kevin was our shack neighbour and the instant we met we had such a wonderful connexion! He asked if he could travel with us for a while, and this is where our friendship began! Meeting Kevin enlightened my trip! He was so lovely, full of funny anecdotes about Malaysia. He was such a wonderful person to travel with! He shawed me and taugh me many stuff about the country. We met again a few years later in Dominican Republic where he was learning how to teach kitesurfing. I spend 3 month over there, learning my dive master. We were meeting almost every evening with Kevin and some friends, we had the best time ever! He is definitely one of the most happiest guy I ever met. Alway smiling and trying to make you feel ok, very kind and generous. We were writing e-mail to each other sometimes, just to say Hi! He was calling me the french frog and of course to me he was a rostbeef! Haha! He told be he met a nice lady called Diane in The Philippines. I …

Kris & Claire Foster

We only met Kev a few times, he built some amazing gates for us, but we both instantly took a liking to him. He struck us as a funny, open, friendly person who had lived an interesting life to the full, and obviously doted on his family. We would have both loved to have been able to get to know him better and we are sure that he will be deeply missed by many. Kris & Claire …

Ronnie&Marjorie Mason

We were shocked to here about Kevin. He put a new kitchen in for us, and did a grand job, when you lived in Fardon Close, Wigan. We lived at No 4 next to Frank and Gail and still live there. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy. …

Dear Di and Skye – thank you for giving us a chance to share our thoughts with you. Kev was such a joyful and free spirit. We spent quite some time over coffee (waiting for a glue to dry, batteries to charge, name it!) and talking about life. The two of you were his life – he was so proud of Skye’s first things and the home you have build together here in Portugal. I will always remember Kev as my savior, who was ready to help and fix my mess – broken boiler on a Christmas Day, burning sockets at 10 pm, leaking roofs… He built my treasure – a shoe storage for 100 pairs. We laughed to tears about my love for shoes! I will always smile and remember Kev when looking for a right pair for the day. Huging both of you. Kate  …

Lovely Diane and Skye, You were blessed to have been such a vital part of Kev’s life and he was blessed to have been a part of yours. I only met Kev one time (at his shop) though on Facebook, I already looked up to him as someone I wanted to emulate. It might sound funny coming from a guy who is 66, but I have always looked up to people that used their hand and brains to fix / craft / create/ help / teach. I had seen numerous posts on Facebook about some of the things that Kev had designed and built for others and thought of him as some kind of larger-than-life guy. My neighbor Paul Brown had reached out to Kev to buy a piece of metal from him and asked if I wanted to come along, knowing that I am a tool addict. I jumped at the chance to meet the guy I looked up to (from afar up to this point). We got there and were introduced and Kev immediately made us feel welcome and invited us in to the shop. I looked around and had so many questions (What’s that?  What do …

Lee Jones & Sónia Gomes

The world has lost one of the best humans, and we’re so sorry for your loss Di & Skye ❤️ We were lucky enough to have had a few drinks with you both a few months ago, never thinking it would be the last. Sónia has only met Kev twice, and she was so saddened to hear the news, but that shows just how much his charm, warmth and humour was loved by everyone in an instant. I have some great memories of Kev, from the Irlam days, to picking us up in Egypt in the Beetle, and welcoming us to your amazing home in Portugal. Kev… You are missed, but fondly remembered. See you on the other side xx …

Dear Di and Skye, What wonderful memories we have of Kev and the Kitejunkies team. He was a very special person with a great sense of humour. He never failed to entertain us with stories of his life adventures and boy did he have them! Unfortunately the attached photo doesnt have Kev in it as he was probably on the water shouting at Chris to slow down as he hammered past!! A great instructor who will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and love with you both. Brenda and Chris xxx   …
