A Book of Remembrance

Doreen

Doreen Keane

In loving and fondest memory of Doreen Keane.

Doreen Keane was a very loved and popular member of staff at Anchor.  She worked with Anchor from the early days, until the day she sadly passed away on 22nd May 2023.  She made it her mission, to get to know the children, staff, foster parents and other stakeholders at Anchor and her heart just grew to accomodate everyone.

She touched everyone’s lives in way or another and this memory book is here for you to post your thoughts, condolences and memories of our dearest ‘Doreen’.

When you post, please add your name and how you knew Doreen as we would like to share this book with Doreen’s family.  We hope that this will give some comfort to them and confirm what a truly wonderful person she was.

Thank you, for taking the time to contribute to this book of memories.

Doreen was one person who, upon asking someone if they knew her and they hesitated to respond you would be spot on to say to them, “Don’t worry, you don’t know her. You have never met her”, because she was such a person that meeting her even just for 3 minutes, you would remember her for the rest of your life. She was jovial and engaging the minute you started having a chat with her. Very unique and special character who we shall forever miss. …

Doreen Rosemarie, wife to Peter, mother and grandmother, a friend and colleague. Anchor will never be the same without you. Your departure has changed our landscape. We now have a gaping hole where you were. Your cheerful voice has fallen silent and the good mornings that rang out of you daily have gone with you. The cups of tea have lost their meaning and ability to soothe. The phone has gone silent with no one to ring it and talk, ask, remind or issue an instruction or should I say a directive about one thing or another! Just between you and me, you would not want to know how many appointments I have missed since you have been gone!! I can hear you Shush kebabbing me!!❤️ I will try harder Dor so as not to let you down!! But I am sure you would understand!! You more than anyone else. There hasn’t been a single early morning call since you left! Summer missed the Vet’s appointment, she missed Klip & Dip!! Just to mention a few!! No train has been caught since you left Dor!! It’s like the world fell silent with you- a kind of stillness, a quietness, …
