Memories of

Captain Paul Naylor

Captain Paul Naylor

Paul’s passing on Monday was a shock to us all. Paul was very proud to be BALPA’s Executive President and he appreciated the phenomenal work and dedication of the BALPA staff. He loved coming to the office and having a chat with you all.

I know he was well respected within the building as well as industry wide and I would like to invite you to leave any memories, photos or stories you may wish to share with each other and with Sharon, Paul’s wife.

Paul will be so sorely missed. He was a figure of calm and dedication throughout some very trying times in the industry. Above all, he was an unfailingly kind man who had time for everyone. I always enjoyed hearing about his home, the cats that roamed his garden and the robins that came to visit. Thinking of all those close to him as they deal with this terrible loss. Rest in peace Paul, a proper gentleman. …

Paul was a lovely person, would always stop to have a chat and see how you are doing. He loved a cup of tea and a bit of Lemon cake. I remember one ADC when Wendy and I were playing around with the luggage trolley, Paul ended up pushing us both on it….not what you would expect your president to do. He will be sadly missed by all at BALPA.   …

BALPA is a sad place without Paul who we will all miss. I will miss him folding his Arms and giving me that look when I have told him things I have been up to. Taken way to soon but Heaven has gained a Legend. Lots of love to Sharon & all Paul’s family and friends.  …

I’ve only had the privilege to know and work with Paul for a few years, but in that short time I will be forever grateful for the kindness, generous time, and great advice he shared with me and the phenomenal dedication and selflessness he displayed for colleagues and friends alike to help make their lives better. Paul oozed integrity and great humour, and whilst I will miss him greatly, I will also smile when I think of him knowing that my life and countless others are so much richer for having known him. All my love to Sharon, family, and friends, and to my colleagues at BALPA HQ. RIP Paul, a true legend. …
